In this final installment of the “Conscious Leadership” series, my focus turns to the concept of “Evolve.”
Decades ago, when I was embarking on my journey with embodiment and Emotional Mastery, I was initiating a pilot program in New York.
A student, intrigued but seeking clarity, asked a wise and fundamental question: “Why are we doing this?”
In response, I spoke what seemed a timeless truth and was a guiding principle in how I’d been living my life: “Using these methods, you have the ability to evolve into your best and highest self.”
Yes, even back then, the pursuit of personal evolution was at the forefront of my life and my teaching.
But then she asked me, “What does ‘evolve’ mean?”
It prompted a moment of reflection. The significance of evolution had become second nature to me. Yet, for someone encountering the idea for the first time, it required new thought.
You might remember an earlier blog in this series, “Conscious Leadership: The Journey and Your North Star.” Evolving to my “best and highest self” has been my passion, my North Star, for decades.
I see life as an unfolding journey. A journey of choices. I see every moment as a choice. Every moment is an opportunity to respond in a number of ways. So many choices!, all day long!
“Evolve,” for me, signifies an intentional ascent—continually moving towards heightened compassion, deeper understanding, and a more profound connection to the universal “Source,” a force beyond one’s self.
While the term “enlightened” is ambitious, it encapsulates the essence of this perpetual striving.
To evolve is to be fully conscious of every response, gradually creating a habit of reaching higher. Evolving towards our best selves is a deliberate, mindful progression.
This is not always easy. And there will be challenges and setbacks.
It’s important to acknowledge that this evolution is a dynamic process, shaped by life’s challenges and situations that demand responses we may not yet possess.
When we recognize we’re at the crossroads of a new challenge, that’s when it’s time to focus on your North Star, or your “evolution” towards that “something higher.”
This is how we evolve.
Every decision is a crossroads, an opportunity to realign with our North Star, or our pursuit of “something higher.”
This is pivotal. In doing this, we navigate uncharted territory with intention. Using our evolving consciousness as a compass, it becomes gradually more and more habitual to reach higher.
With this in mind as a guiding principle, together, we are making the world a better place, one conscious choice at a time.
Together, we can foster a positive ripple effect in our lives and the world around us.
