Enneagram Rap for Type Five
Profound, sustained focus is one of the skills of the Five. It’s a great way for any of us to apply ourselves and accomplish what we want.
If there’s a phrase (mantra) in the first section that captures what you want more of, remember it, write it down, say it with me, repeat it, often. You will create and strengthen the neural pathway for it and it will become a part of who are.
Is there a cost to this gift? Well, yes. As true for the gifts of ALL the types, there is such a thing as “too much of a good thing.”
For the Five, it’s getting SOOOO focused and involved that we can block people out, even those we care most about, and often without realizing it.
Let yourself feel the meaning of these words in your body. In this middle section, it will give you a physical sense of what your self talk does to you.
There of course is a variety of self talk that can turn this difficult emotion around. An example could be something like:
It’s safe to be seen.
I step into the world,
And engage with life.
